This is due to the direction of your home, the lighting, and your furniture. Brightening Up Dark Spaces The right paint color can brighten up dark spaces. When you choose the right color, it can make a room feel larger, brighter, and more welcoming. TIP: Put up a paint sample. Take into account how light bulb temperatures affect paint colors. The natural lighting in your home also affects color choice.  Creating Focal Points with Accent Walls You would be amazed how a fun accent wall will add depth and interest to a room. Explore warm accent colors that can complement the overall color scheme. TIP: Add custom carpentry A full custom accent wall  is another way to add dimension and personality to a room, and we have some amazing carpenters. Selling Your Home?

Is selling your home in your spring plans? While it may be the middle of winter with snow on the ground and so cold outside that you just want to stay inside cuddled up in a blanket by the fire, spring is just around the corner. Spring is the time everyone loves to get things done on their home. We have all been cooped up in our homes all winter and when spring comes, we are refreshed and ready to start checking things off our list. But guess what? Everyone else is just like you, calling contractors to schedule estimates only to find out that they are booked for the next several months. Additionally, good, insured, and reliable contractors are hard to find, and will book-up sooner than the others.   NOW is the time to call and get the ball rolling on your spring plans. The housing market is still HOT, so many people will be rushing to get their home ready and in perfect condition. One of the top things you will want to do, is paint the interior of your home, and February is the perfect time. This gives you a jump start on preparing your home for sale and will alleviate so much stress. Painting can uncover other imperfections or underlying issues that need to be addressed prior to putting your home on the market, so February is a perfect time to schedule your interior painting.   When picking out a color, we highly suggest painting your home a light color and the same color throughout. The reason for a lighter color is that it makes your home seem larger and gives it a clean and beautiful look. You want the potential homebuyer to be able to picture their belongings in the home and painting one, light and beautiful color will allow them to do that.  Here are a few of our favorite neutrals, whites and grays. For neutrals we love Manchester Tan, Muslin or Classic Gray. For whites we love Chantilly Lace, White Heron or White Dove. And for grays we love Revere Pewter, Edgecomb Gray, Silver Satin and Gray Owl. Also, your realtor might also have some great color suggestions.   To schedule your interior painting with a friendly, professional and reliable contractor, call Manor Works Painting today. Our schedule fills up quickly and we would love to help you get your beautiful home ready before the spring season.   Manor Works Painting is a Class A contractor, licensed and insured painting company. Spring Refresh

IT’S TIME FOR A SPRING REFRESH. Who loves Spring as much as we do?!?!? We all survived the long, cold and windy winter and we are so ready for nicer weather. The warmer weather motivates us to organize and get things done around the home. So now is the time to clean out and purge things we don’t need anymore, rearrange our homes, and maybe change up things around your home. It’s crazy how nice weather can motivate us to get things done.  SPRING DECLUTTERING TIPS Who loves to clean out cluttered closets and drawers?!?!? It might be something we all continually put off until we cannot jam anything more in there, but the end result…{wow}. Organizing feels so good when it’s complete. Here are a few things to help you get better organized: Always start small and in one place.  Then, if you are feeling it, you can keep going.  It always gets worse before it gets better.  It might look like a huge mess, but keep going because purging and organizing feels so good! Don’t keep everything you pull out of the drawers or closet. The purpose of organizing is to weed out things you no longer need. Have bins for things you no longer need, like donate and trash. This also helps keep things organized.  We love the color coordinating method;, this is a big one for our favorite organizers from The Home Edit www.thehomeedit.com  If you are cleaning out your kids’ closet, have them help! Then they can try on clothes, get rid of ones that no longer fit and ones that they don’t like anymore.  LIGHTING, UNDERTONES, AND SOME OF OUR FAVORITE PAINT COLORS If you are thinking about changing the colors inside your home, there are several things you will want to consider. Do you get a lot of natural light, or does your home rely more on lighting inside your home? Also, the type of light bulbs you use will greatly change the appearance of paint colors. Daylight / bright white bulbs are much brighter and give off a cooler, blue tone. Soft / warm bulbs are warmer and give off a more yellow tone.  You will want to bring swatches into your home to see what it looks like throughout the day and evening, as well as what it looks like with your furniture and accessories. If you have dark furniture, you will want to use a lighter, warm color on your walls. If you have lots of lighter furniture, you can be more flexible with your color selections. Lighter colors also make rooms appear larger.  Now for the fun part, we are going to share some of our favorite paint colors for the interior of your home. White paint colors from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams: Decorator’s White- a warm white with gray undertones White Dove- a greige with yellow undertones Simply White- a bright white with a slight yellow undertone Alabaster- a creamy, bright white with yellow undertones Oyster White- a greige color Gray paint colors from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams Crushed Ice- light gray with blue undertone Classic Gray- a light, warm gray Gray Owl- a light, cool gray Greige paint colors from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams Collonade Gray Revere Pewter Edgecomb Gray Balboa Mist   Fun Paint Colors from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams Raspberry Blush- Benjamin Moore’s 2023 Color of the Year Redend Point- Sherwin Williams 2023 Color of the Year Hale Navy and Naval- deep, rich navy colors Onyx and Caviar- black and bold colors   Also, a quick decorator’s tip on colors and figuring out their undertones, the NAME will sometimes give you insight on the of the color.   Spring is here, so refresh and organize your home, because it feels AMAZING!  At Manor Works, we are here to work alongside you and help you find joy in the colors you choose, which will allow you to love where you live!  If you need help finding the perfect color in a sea of so many colors, give us a call.
